On 16 November 2018 the Public Policy Secretariat (PPS), with the support of PERFORM, organised a half-day panel discussion entitled “Smart Planning and Management of Public Policies”. The event gathered government representatives of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro who have exchanged their experiences on strategic planning and the use of evidence in the process.
Bojana Tosic, Acting Director of the PPS stressed the importance of the recently adopted Law on the Planning System that will enable better strategic planning, based on a wider consultation process, which will include the research community as well.
Dr Martin Dietz, Manager of PERFORM highlighted the practical work of bringing researchers and policy institutions to work together on policy projects, that were coordinated jointly by the PPS and PERFORM in the previous three and a half years.
“Now that we have the practical experience and the methodology developed, the question is how to root the practice in the system”, said Dr Dietz.
